EDPuzzle For Listening Comprehension
Hi, everyone..!
Back with me again in my blog site..
In this post, I would like to share a useful applications that can be used for teachers in the schools to make listening comprehension for their students. Then, what is that? EDPuzzle is the answer. Okay then, let's check it out!
Honestly, in my life, I have not experience flipped classroom in school. We have to bought an expensive books from school, then we must write on a piece of paper. And, at that time, there was no high-tech phones (like iPhone or Android). I just experienced a direct method of teaching (using books).
In my opinion, flipped classroom cannot be applied in this country, Indonesia. Because as we know, most people in Indonesia does not know much about gadgets and other technologies. Besides the people, the internet connection also takes a role in doing flipped classroom techniques, and both still do not fit in Indonesia as well.
For the technique, it can be simple and easy to carry out for the teacher if they know much about the technology, especially on the Internet connection. Meanwhile, for those who still do not know much about the technologies, the technique might be very difficult.
The affecting factors in the success of using flipped classroom is the internet connection, and the knowledge the teacher has about the tools she/he is using. For this trial, I used EDPuzzle to making a listening comprehension. Why? Because this program is easier than any other program.
The advantage of using this program is we can choose many videos from many other sources (YouTube, NatGeo Channels, etc.). The way to make the questions are very easy to follow. In each steps, there is a tutorial video about how to do the steps. The video is simple, and the students will not get bored or confused of it. We can also edit, or even delete the questions based on our thought.
For the weaknesses, I do not find any weaknesses in this program. So, I can say that this application is really easy for teachers who want to make an interesting listening comprehension for their students. And for those who have never done this kind of thing, they can use this program as their references and feel that making online listening comprehension is not as hard as they think before.
That's all of my explanations about this program.
Here is an example of my lesson (you have to sign up first or sign in directly if you have an account):
